Cooking w/ Chef Megan - Four Class Series

Cooking Classes are now at the Nelson Center! Chef Megan Smith will be hosting a variety of cooking classes on select Wednesdays throughout the year. Chef Megan has worked as a professional chef for over 40 years, has been featured on the Food Network, and was most recently the chef and owner of Ironwood American Bistro. Come learn from the best!

In this four-part series, Chef Megan will guide you through professional techniques while sharing nutritional insights that go beyond the recipe. Each class highlights both flavor and function, showing how small changes can have a lasting impact.

Individual classes: $75 each

Class #1 – Veggies & the Humble Roast Chicken

Class #2 – How to Cook Steak & Fish
February 4, 2026 - 6–8 PM
Master the difference between cooking steak and fish, plus easy quinoa and a quick pan sauce. Discussion topic: Protein. “We eat to be social with family & friends.”

Class #3 – Orange-Scented Chocolate Cake & Crème Anglaise
February 11, 2026 - 6–8 PM
Perfect for Valentine’s Day! A rich dessert made lighter with smart ingredient swaps. Discussion topic: Sugar. “We eat for pleasure.”

Class #4 – Roasted Tomato Soup & The Economy of Chicken Stock
February 25, 2026 - 6–8 PM
Discover simple soup-making techniques and the many uses of homemade stock. Discussion topic: Carbohydrates. “We eat for comfort.”

Please note that this registration is for all four classes in the series at the $200 rate for all four classes. There are no pro-rated fees or refunds for missed classes. Classes must be used within this series and cannot be transferred. Space is limited; advance registration is required. Please arrive on time to get the most from each class. Individual classes are available for registration is you are not able to commit for all 4 classes.
