Basic Life Support (BLS) builds upon essential lifesaving skills, with a focus on the importance of delivering high-quality, continuous CPR. This course will teach proficiency in providing BLS care, emphasizing the prioritization of chest compressions and the integration of AED use.

In line with the American Heart Association’s commitment to ensuring all students benefit from the updated 2020 AHA guidelines, this course is available to new, expired, and current BLS cardholders.

Taught in a classroom setting, the course requires students to successfully demonstrate BLS skills and achieve a passing score of 84% or higher on the written test.

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, students will receive an American Heart Association BLS eCard.

Note:

All students are required to have an AHA BLS Provider manual for the class. This can be purchased separately online through American Heart Association at https://shopcpr.heart.org/ . Instructor recommends the purchase of the eBook.
